The NeuroStimulator PENS therapy® is a cost effective and minimally invasive peripheral nerve stimulator, used in the treatment of chronic peripheral neuropathic pain.
PENS can be used as a diagnostic therapy to identify patients who are likely to benefit from a permanently implanted neurostimulation device.
Such preliminary assessments could reduce the incidence of patients who fail to benefit from a lengthy, potentially traumatic and costly procedure.
PENS therapy offers patients the potential for intermediate relief and ongoing management of chronic peripheral neuropathic pain syndromes including;
• Occipital Neuralgia • Supraorbital Neuralgia • Post Hernia Repair Pain • Neuropathic Chest Wall Pain • Stump Pain • Post Mastectomy Pain
The NeuroStimulator PENS therapy® uses frequency dependant electrical current to modulate the activity of peripheral nerves.
PENS therapy can be used to stimulate a single peripheral nerve or the most peripheral branches of a peripheral nerve, in order to control pain. The electrical current is delivered percutaneously through a 21 gauge Probe.
Although PENS therapy may reduce pain, it does not treat the underlying condition, if one exists. |
